Bleach stains on your clothes? Don’t throw them away: here’s a possible solution.

A sudden spill, and in an instant, your favorite T-shirt seems ruined forever… or at least that’s how it feels. Bleach stains are one of those small, everyday inconveniences that make you want to throw away an item of clothing. However, before you throw it away, know that there are ways to make the discoloration less noticeable or even turn the accident into a creative opportunity.

Why bleach leaves permanent marks

Bleach doesn’t create a normal stain: it strips the color from the fabric by removing its pigments. In other words, the color is permanently faded. This is why regular washing cannot restore the original color.

The goal, therefore, is not to “remove” the stain, but to make it less visible or blend it in as much as possible with the rest of the fabric.

A method that could help reduce the visibility of the stain

One of the most commonly cited home remedies involves using a clear spirit, such as vodka or gin, to reduce the contrast between the discolored area and the surrounding tissue. Although some people claim to have good results, there is little scientific evidence to support its effectiveness.
